Prepare before meeting candidates.
Use shared, job-related criteria. Write the role’s three most important outcomes. Identify the job-related skills or behaviors needed for those outcomes. Prepare the same core questions for each candidate. Agree what a strong, partial, or weak answer would demonstrate.
Example core questions.
Tell us about a time you handled a relevant task or challenge. What was your role, what did you do, and what happened? How would you approach a realistic role-related scenario?
During the interview.
For each criterion, record the evidence you heard and a rating from 1 to 5 with a job-related rationale.
